She is the granddaughter of famous traditional dancer Gong Ok-jin.
YG noticed her for her exceptional dancing skills from the internet video that has been circling online. Originally, MinJi was supposed to debut together with an ex-YG trainee May Doni until May Doni decided to switch company. Now, MinJi will debut together with Park Bom, CL and Sandara as the new YG act that will take the Korea Music Industry by storm.
Min Ji is most noticable for her dance skills as she has proved in the Lollipop CF. Some have said that Min Ji seems to be given the green light to dance however she wants which indicates that she will not be doing the typical dance moves that most girl groups’ lead dancer does.
